Caipirinha
The Brazilian cocktail is a refreshing mix of Cachaça, fruity lime juice and fine cane sugar, that sweapes you away to the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. To a place where passionate and tanned Brazilian women wear fancy costumes and crazy plumed headdresses that remind of circus horses and where tourists gape in astonishment and snap everything they find in front of their lenses. A party as special as the cocktail, that once took your imagination there.
The origin of the Caipirinha
The Caipirinha cocktail was created by Brazilian sugar farmers. With the white cane sugar, used in the original recipe, and the crushed lime quarters they sweetened the strong Cachaça and made it enjoyable. This history of the origins of the Caipirinha is still in the name of the cocktail today: The word “caipira” means “country person” or “hick”. Thanks to its delicious and refreshing taste this cocktail became famous in all over the world and was included on the list of cocktails of the International Bartenders Association. Today this cocktail is often mixed with brown sugar cane instead.
Enjoy the SHATLER’s Caipirinha, a perfect mix of high-quality Cachaça, fresh lime juice and finest white sugar cane. In order to make it look as good as it tastes, we recommend serving it with a few quarters of limes in the glass.
Our Tip
Try making a Strawberry Caipirinha out of your Caipirinha by adding a few fresh strawberries and crushed ice to a SHATLER’s Caipirinha and blending everything together. This is Brazilian summer in a glass!
